  1. I’m very interested in this project. I’m going to pray on this one. I am concerned about the commitment over the summer and next school year (when I’m going back).

  2. Steve, thanks for sharing at our men’s study group yesterday. I will shame same material with our study group in church later this morning. Sorry that my schedule does not allow for my attendance at a number of these sessions. But in any event I will share my own observations at the outset of your project.

I believe that Spiritual formation is indeed the work of the holy trinity that is found for us at the intersection of the great commission and of the Gospel. Therefore I would suggest that it is not just ones understanding of the doctrine of trinity that affects spiritual formation but also and especially ones understanding of the Great commission and of the Gospel itself.

When ones understanding of the Gospel finds its focus on the crucified rather than the Risen Christ and its fruits at the end of life rather than in spirit filled daily living then I think that spiritual formation is seen to be of little need or practical use in daily life.

    Just my two cents worth.
